Shalom Life July-September 2022
Happy summer! Can you believe we’re already in the second half of 2022?
To kick off the season, the youth went on an exciting retreat to Clearwater. It was four fun-filled days of activities designed to build and strengthen their relationship with G-d and amongst themselves and others. It was an unforgettable experience and I’m sure they cannot wait for the next one.
High Holidays
The high holidays are quickly approaching. The first of these moedim, Yom Teruah (also called Rosh Hashana), falls on Sunday, September 25th, followed by Yom Kippur on October 4th & 5th, and Sukkot on October 9th-16th. You won’t want to miss out on these feasts. Who knows what G-d has in store for us during this season. Be sure to clear your calendars for these important appointed times and keep an eye out for service dates and times in the church center app.

I will be teaching basic steps used in the praise and worship dance circle as well as some fun and easy Israeli folk dances and delve a little into the history of Israeli dancing. Classes will be held Shabbat, July 23rd and 30th, after oneg. Please see me (Emily) for details.

Join Rabbi Itzhak Shapira, Rabbi Steven Bernstein, Pastor Matt McKeown and Dr. Doug Wheeler and many others to understand and discover your role in the end-days. Who am I?
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for G-d’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9
Have you ever asked yourself “Who am I?” or “What is my purpose?” The world may say things like “You can be whoever or whatever you want to be.” (unfortunately some people take that a little too literally). But what does G-d say?

Throughout Scripture, you’ll find many instances in which G-d calls people out from wherever they are and entrusts them with a particular task. They were chosen by G-d for the ultimate purpose of serving him and building his kingdom. Likewise, we have been chosen. We are called as children of G-d to be a light in this dark world. We become that light by serving Him with our entire being and submitting to His will. This is who we are as believers and this is our purpose.
So my friends, do not worry if you have yet to discover who you are, for as long as we love, serve, and obey G-d, it is in Him whom we find our identity and place in life. Trust in G-d and you will be amazed as to how the puzzle pieces of life fall into place.
“Now we know that all things work together for good for those who love G-d, who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, so that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those whom He predestined, He also called; and those whom He called, He also justified; and those whom He justified, He also glorified.” Romans 8:28-30
